Julien Alfred delivered a stunning performance at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas, winning both the 100m and 200m titles in impressive fashion.

She clocked 10.72 seconds in the 100m, just 0.03 seconds shy of the collegiate, meet and facility record of 10.75 seconds set by Sh’Carri Richardson of LSU in 2019. The only factor that prevented her from breaking the record was a slightly wind-aided reading of 2.2 meters per second.

Alfred became the first Texas woman to claim the 100m title at the NCAA Outdoor Championships since 2013, and the first to win an individual outdoor title on the track since 2019. She led from start to finish, leaving Blackmon behind by a clear gap.

She then showed her dominance in the 200m, where she ran 21.73 seconds, beating three other runners who all achieved lifetime bests. Alfred has been the most outstanding sprinter in the NCAA ranks, and possibly in the world, this spring with her consistent and remarkable performances.
