NO SECURITY LEVY ON LOCAL CHARCOAL

There will be no security levy on local charcoal. That’s the word of government officials who say contrary to claims made by the opposition–local charcoal and merchants who make them will not be subjected to the newly introduced health and security levy. Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre has been persistently facing inquiries concerning the items impacted by the newly imposed health and security tariff. Although he has attempted to address the concerns and work together with stakeholders to ensure a smooth implementation of the tax, he was once again queried about the levy on wood and wood-related products, including wood charcoal, this week.
