Sustainable development minister and chairman of the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) Shawn Edward stressed the need for building resilience to complex multiple hazards and strengthening critical infrastructure as part of efforts around disaster risk reduction. This was among the six core regional priorities Edward highlighted to the general assembly, at the un high-level meeting on the midterm review of the Sendai framework held from May 18th to the 19th, 2023.
