NYC pizza shop worker shot during clash with possible would-be robber: cops

A Brooklyn pizza shop employee was shot during a clash with a possible would-be robber late Tuesday, cops said.

The 44-year-old male worker was inside Rocco Pizza III on Halsey Street near Throop Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 9:30 p.m. when the gunman blasted him in the left leg during a dispute, police said.

The argument may have begun after the suspect tried to steal from the pizzeria, cops said.

The victim was taken to the Kings County Hospital Center in stable condition.

The suspect – a man in his 20s – fled the scene, but was busted a short time later when he robbed a man in his 30s of his cell phone on nearby Macon Street, authorities said.

Charges are pending against him.
