Nick Jonas is opening a restaurant in San Diego, Page Six can exclusively reveal.
The “Sucker” singer has teamed up with his tequila brand’s co-founder John Varvatos to launch the Villa One™ Tequila Garden this Spring.
“John and I became fast friends and collaborators the moment we met,” Jonas, 29, exclusively told Page Six on Tuesday. “We shared the same values of spending time with friends and family and our vision to create a high-quality tequila that could be shared during those special moments came to life with Villa One.”
Located at the Theatre Box in the Gaslamp Quarter, the stylish rooftop venue will serve as a bar, restaurant and nightlife destination.
“Villa One Tequila Gardens was formed as a destination oasis where one can unwind and experience the ultimate after-work or weekend Tulum getaway right in the heart of San Diego,” the Jonas Brothers alum said in a statement.
Inside, one will find patio-style seating, a communal table for socializing, firepits, and an intimate bar. While there will be specialty cocktails served with Villa One tequila, the bar menu will include more than 160 tequilas and mezcals to choose from.
As for the food, Jorge Cueva, a.k.a. Mr. Tempo, has curated a Mexican cuisine menu including tacos, burritos, enchiladas and his signature “JAPA-MEX” sushi rolls infused with Mexican flavors.
While the venue, which can accommodate about 200 guests, will be open seven days a week, it will transform into a party spot on the weekends, offering bottle service packages and hosting various live DJs.
“Creating Villa One together with my good friend and business partner, Nick Jonas, and the Villa One team has been a highlight of my career. I am so excited to bring the Villa One brand to life in this beautiful space that allows more people to experience the brand and its ethos of living ‘Life As It Should Be’,” Varvatos said in a statement.
We’re also told Villa One™ Tequila Gardens will continue to expand with new locations to open in Miami, Las Vegas, New York City, Los Angeles and Dallas in the upcoming year.
Jonas and Varvatos founded their Villa One tequila brand in April last year.
