Perhaps he needs a “New Perspective.”
Folk-pop singer Noah Kahan can’t quite believe his immense success and quick rise to fame over the last year.
“I have pretty bad imposter syndrome, so I feel like, ‘What the hell?'” he told Page Six at the TIME100 Next gala Tuesday night, where he was named one of the magazine’s 100 up-and-coming leaders in the arts, sports, business and other industries.
“I keep thinking they accidentally wanted to put like, I don’t know, like Noah Cyrus or something up there,” he joked.
The “Dial Drunk” singer, 26, emphasized that he’s “very grateful and honored” to be named among the magazine’s honorees.
“It’s pretty incredible,” he continued
After the Vermont-native found out he made the list, he read about the “incredible” stories of the 99 other people and gushed to us that it was “pretty cool” to be “spoken about in the same vein.”
“I’m very grateful and honored and gonna try to soak in every minute of this amazing opportunity,” he added.
In 2017, Kahan signed to Republic Records – which has also worked with artists like Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Post Malone – and skyrocketed to fame following the release of his hit album “Stick Season.”
Following a sold out tour in 2023, Kahan announced his 2024 We’ll All be Here Forever tour last month, which sold out venues like NYC’s Madison Square Garden, Boston’s Fenway Park and LA’s Hollywood Bowl.

“I’ve definitely gotten to a place of complete surrealism where I feel like I’m living in ‘The Truman Show’ or something and everyone is playing a joke on me. I have a hard time believing any of it,” Kahan told GQ in a profile published Oct. 20.
When it comes to advice he’s received from other artists, Kahan teases that someone he “adores” and considers his “hero” gave him great advice.
“They told me that they’re still trying to find ways to surprise themselves, and so I’m always trying to find a way to surprise myself with music.
“If that means doing something that doesn’t feel like the right thing or trying something new, even if it feels scary, something like tonight, is worth doing, because it might make you feel that surprise that you felt when you started, and that’s what I’m always chasing,” he tells us.
Kahan didn’t divulge who the mystery artist was, but he’s previously gushed about artists like Mumford & Sons and Hozier.
