To honour the sacrifices made by the servicemen and women of the Nigerian Armed Forces, President Bola Tinubu has announced the approval of ₦18 billion in Group Life Assurance benefits and other entitlements.
The announcement was made during the Launch of the Emblem Appeal for the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day at the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja, on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
He stated, “I have approved the sum of ₦18 billion for the payment of the Group Life Assurance benefits and other entitlements to the families of service members who lost their lives in line of duty.”
The President stated that this decision aimed to honor the fallen heroes and acknowledge their dedication to the nation.
President Tinubu reiterated his administration's support for the armed forces, emphasising the need to reposition institutions to enhance their efficiency and effectiveness.
“We owe a debt of gratitude to our gallant troops, who have risen to the challenge of securing this great nation,” President Tinubu added.
