He started vomiting after taking injection, Mohbad's DJ testifies in court

Mohbad's DJ tells the court that the singer started vomiting immediately after he was administered an injection by a nurse.

Ajisegiri Ayobami, the Disk Jockey to the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as MohBad, has told the Coroner's Inquest investigating the probable cause of the artiste's death that the deceased started vomiting after a nurse administered an injection to him.

Ayobami, who was said to have been with Mohbad at the time of his death, appeared before the coroner court in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.

In his testimony, the DJ said the singer vomited the noodles prepared for him by his (Mohbad's) brother, Adura Aloba.

The witness also corroborated an earlier police account regarding the series of incidents that happened before the singer's demise.

He said they had gone for a show in Ikorodu on Sunday, and on their way back, their Prado Jeep was blocked, and he saw Mohbad come down from the Jeep to fight his friend known as Primeboy but injured his hand in the process.

Ayobami added that the wound was a small cut, but the hand was already swollen by the time they got home at midnight. He stated that their efforts to get Mohbad's personal nurse proved abortive as she was not around.

It was after this that one of their team members called Spending said he had a nurse, and they called the nurse, who later came to administer an injection to the deceased.

The DJ noted that Mohbad was very fine before the nurse's arrival but had slept before the injection was administered, adding that he later collapsed on the floor and vomited the Indomie Noodles that he had eaten, and goosebumps were on his body.

Ayobami said, “The nurse said we should go and get him drugs; while we were at the pharmacy, I called the house to know how he was feeling, and they said I should come back.

“When I got back, they were already outside trying to put him in a neighbour’s car to get him to the hospital, but the way I saw him, he was lifeless, his eyes were closed, and his hands were falling.

“While we were going to the hospital, there was traffic, so I came down from the other vehicle and ran to the hospital; I asked them if they had an ambulance, and they said no. Before I could get back to them, I saw them bringing Mohbad on a bike, and when we got to the hospital he was confirmed dead.”
