Zion Williamson’s stepdad spoke to a group of students and gave general advice that may or may not be relevant to the NBA star’s current romantic predicament.
Williamson and his girlfriend, Ahkeema, held a gender reveal party earlier this week announcing that they are expecting a baby girl in November, an announcement which set off adult film star Moriah Mills on a multi-day Twitter tirade expressing feelings of betrayal.
On Friday, Williamson was announced as a partner of Jefferson Parish Schools — according to ESPN, the NBA star’s foundation donated $250,000 for the school district to cover uniform costs — about an hour outside New Orleans, and his stepdad, Lee Anderson delivered some advice for the group of students, school workers and media in attendance.
“Believe half of what you see and nothing what you hear,” Anderson said, as covered by Nola.com.
Williamson did not speak to reporters at the event.
Anderson’s quote, relative to the context of Williamson’s love imbroglio, marked a surreal moment.

Anderson was in the news a couple of months ago when FS1 host Skip Bayless reported that Willamson’s stepfather was in conflict with Pelicans management over how the player was being handled.
“Team management is increasingly at odds with Zion’s stepfather, who is sort of running the show on the Zion camp,” Bayless said. “They just believe the stepfather, with the advice of the medical people on their side, are holding Zion back from playing.
“The stepfather is increasingly unhappy with the team because it continues to exercise the clause in his contract that, on a monthly basis, they can weigh him.”
Williamson played in just 29 games this past season after missing all of last year, as he has battled a foot injury.
Even after Williamson had missed the whole previous season, the Pelicans signed him to a five-year deal worth as much as $231 million last July.
Earlier this week, Williamson’s apparent girlfriend Ahkeema threw a gender reveal party, in which a beaming Williamson was present.
Shortly thereafter, Mills began a tempest of tweets that claimed she had recently been involved in sexual relations with Williamson, that he had planned to fund her move to New Orleans and that she was “definitely late”.
Her tweets have continued for several days, as now she has pieced together a timeline in which she believes that the pregnancy was conceived shortly after Valentine’s Day, when Mills says she was recovering from complications of butt reduction surgery.
At the same time, a third woman has made claims that she too was involved romantically with Williamson, and called the NBA star a “nasty ass sex addict.”
