Decide: You may be the only brave person to summit Mount Everest. Could you tell us about that experience?
Chef David White: We had hoped to climb the summit, but in reality he was injured at 7500 meters, so he decided to go to North Camp at the top of the col. Stayed for one night only. This is in China. The problem with climbing from the north is that there are no rescuers above 6000m. After my injury, I suddenly worried not only for my life, but also for the life of the Sherpa. Sherpas were the absolute heroes of Everest and were responsible for safely ascending and descending the mountain. It was incredible to be in the mountains, but living and sleeping at such high altitude puts so much pressure on your brain that it almost hallucinates.
Despite hardships and injuries, last year he was due to return in April but broke his back in December. This time we plan to climb from the south side. We are working with CALM on a plan to break the Guinness World Record for the world's tallest dinner party (currently held at 7,050m). I want to eat at 8000m on the south side to bring awareness to their organization.
You said, "I have lied to death many times, it is a joke." You recently broke your back, and it was your worst injury.
Lost his two front teeth while skiing. It was pretty crap. I was on rails. I've run into multiple avalanches and dug my friends out of them. Avalanches are terrifying to witness and a strong reminder that mountains are to be respected.
I love skydiving. That's how I actually broke my back. If you're skydiving often enough, it's quite normal for malfunctions to occur. On one jump, the parachute wouldn't open and I couldn't get enough of my spares. I hadn't jumped in a while so I broke my back when I landed, so I was a little out of practice. It required two spinal surgeries, so this is the worst injury I have ever had. One entered through the abdomen, so it was really bad. In another surgery of mine, it was inserted through the back to stabilize the lower spine. I also caught COVID in the hospital and it was no one's fault. Shout out to Mount Sinai in Miami. they were the best I survived COVID and left to rehab in France.
You are a true Renaissance man. You he won the British Ski Championships in 2014. I used to run a restaurant in the south of France. What excited you about the yacht industry?
I spent his seven or eight years on a yacht. I won a medal in 2014, which was the peak of my skiing career, but that day I broke my ACL and crushed my meniscus. After that, a year of recovery awaited. At that time, I lived deep in the mountains and had a daily job as a cook and shadow artist. But I couldn't bring much money with me, so I needed funds. I finally got a job on a yacht and was able to continue my rehab while earning a decent salary. That's how it all started.
Captain Sandy is a yacht with experience and expertise like yours. The chef says it has never been. How did she compare to other captains you worked with in the past?
Captain Sandy is the best. I love her a little I've worked with some great captains and she's there. For me, her management was important and she was very good at it. She understands me very well and I really respect that. She let me work. There are times during the season when we know she trusts us and gives us her second chance, even if we fail. She doesn't give up on people. It's a real skill.
I've seen them prepare Japanese, Middle Eastern, Mexican, and more during previous seasons. How did you hone your skills?
I got her NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) and was a very young apprentice chef. I started my apprenticeship when she was 13 or she was 14, working in the kitchen. For a while I was working five days a week and attending college classes. I am grateful that I was able to learn so many things at such a young age. When I was 19, I left England and started traveling. In France I worked in different restaurants with great head chefs, but it was also important to me to travel around the world and try different types of cuisine. That's the best way to learn.
Episode 4 sees you come up with a makeshift tagine. What's the craziest thing you've done McGyver in the galley?
I had to make sushi without a sushi mat. It was really difficult. A lot of the time, especially when you've just joined the kitchen, you've never been there so you don't know what you're dealing with. Say yes to any request and figure it out later. What I did and what I said was completely off the mark. I shouldn't have sent her what I did, no matter how badly she was treated. I am completely upset with my actions and wish I could take it back. I was very angry but I have no excuse for what I did. I would like to apologize to all of you for my disgusting reaction.
Do you think Sandy and Tash gave her a second chance?
I honestly can't watch that episode. I don't know how we met. Of course I know what happened, but I don't know. Do I deserve a second chance? I had a breakdown and it was the second time I slipped. Early in the season, I had a breakdown with [deck hand] Jason [Gaskell]. So maybe I didn't deserve a second chance. But in the galley, I put it in 100 percent. I respect all crew members and I am a good crew member. People deserve a second chance, but I have a feeling it could have been a third.
By the end of the episode, you and Tash were on good terms. You both did your part in the situation and apologized to each other.What's the biggest lesson you've learned from all this?
I don't know. Maybe don't let your heart be on the line. Don't drink too much. sleep more please Maybe avoid the relationship altogether. It's a difficult question to answer. excuse me.
Any advice since Bosun Storm Smith started falling in love with her Second Stew Natalya Scudder after your "Boat Month" experience?
DW: It's different for them than it was for Tash and me. It's really cute because we met on board and got along well. Things can get intense at work, so it's nice to have someone to confide in. I'm all for Storm and Natalia. I sincerely hope it goes well for them.

My pick is [Second Stew] Kyle Viljawn. He's great for multiple reasons. He has such a great joke. I wish he could speak like him. His use of words is incredible. He always has a shit face when he wakes up and I love to roll him up when he walks past the galley [laughs]. he is good at his job he is my MVP.
