PACF Sets up Free Eye Camp, Performs 253 Surgeries in Kabul

Pak-Afghan Cooperation Forum (PACF) in collaboration with Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has performed surgeries on 253 Afghan nationals in the capital Kabul.

The surgeries were conducted free of charge from June 7-14 at Noor Eye Hospital in central Kabul, according to official sources.

The free eye camp was aimed at helping Afghan patients who were suffering from different eye-related diseases and problems and did not have the ability to afford their treatment in private hospitals.

The surgeries included 12 cornea transplants, one tectonic graft surgery, 44 oculoplastic surgeries, 26 vitreoretinal and 170 cataract surgeries. Additionally, it is reported that a total of 4,500 Afghans have been treated at the outpatient department of the hospital during the week-long free eye care camp.

Upon the completion of the camp, the Afghan government and people greatly appreciated the PACF and Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan for their vital work and support towards the ordinary Afghans who are going through difficult situations.

Over the past years, Pakistan has launched several such healthcare camps aimed at providing free health services to the most vulnerable segments of society in Kabul.

Pakistan has maintained close ties with the Taliban administration since the group’s return to power and has tried to convince the international community to engage with Afghanistan’s caretaker government on international stages.
