Authorities in Pakistan’s Punjab province said at least seven people were killed and 14 others injured when a vehicle’s gas cylinder exploded near the Government College of Commerce in the Bhalwal area of Sargodha district.
The incident took place at 8:35 am on Saturday morning, resulting in the death of seven people in injury of 14 others Rescue 1122 Control Room said in a statement. The health conditions of some injured people are reported serious, while the dead bodies of some victims have not been identified as of now.
The statement further added upon receiving a call, the Rescue 1122 team immediately rushed to the incident site where a Hiace vehicle of Gara Brothers’ Transport was on fire due to leakage from its Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder.
The injured who were taken to the hospital included two children as well as two 50-year-olds.
Last month, in a separate gas cylinder explosion in Pakistan, at least five people, including three children were killed, and seven others sustained injuries.
