The United States Coastal Guard on Thursday, June 22, said that the missing Titan submarine had exploded from inside close to the site of the Titanic wreck, resulting in the death of all five members on board.
At a press conference, a Coast Guard spokesperson confirmed that debris discovered near the Titanic wreckage was from the Titan. Five major pieces were found, including a nose cone outside the pressure hull, around 1,600 feet from the submerged Titanic bow.
All five members of the missing Titan submarine are believed to be dead, the company OceanGate Inc. said in a statement.

The statement added, “These men were true explorers who shared a distinct spirit of adventure, and a deep passion for exploring and protecting the world’s oceans. We grieve the loss of life and joy they brought to everyone they knew.”
Hours after the submarine had lost communication, and there was still hope of the explorers’ survival, a Canadian search ship found parts of the lost submarine.
Rescue teams using helicopters and boats from different countries searched thousands of kilometers of ocean for the past five days to find the submarine.
The famous Titanic ship sank in 1912 after hitting an iceberg, resulting in the death of all its 1500 members on board.
The wreck of Titanic ship is still an attraction to interested adventures, located under the ocean, some 640 kilometers south of the city of St. John’s in Newfoundland, Canada.
